Marketing Services versus Products

Products and services are very much essential in the marketing field, and both have their origin in the market that had to be fulfilled. Moreover, the two also relies on the demand that must exist in the market to survive.  Additionally, both effective advertising is required for their customers for the awareness of the customers on the use and perhaps the strength of the products and the services. The similarities exist in both since they have a single unified goal to accomplish and that is to satisfy the wants of the customers (Perreault, Cannon & McCarthy, 2013).

The distinguishing factor between marketing service and products is that the person marketing service is in reality marketing a relationship (Perreault, Cannon & McCarthy, 2013). However, this is different from a product that is perhaps tangible, can be felt and has the scent as well. Another difference is that the consumer idea of a service is commonly founded on the reputation of perhaps a single person. Consequently, establishing a reputation based on the quality of various amount of products, a service is perceived on how adept the service is delivered by the person in the marketing center.

Product customization is easier than the customization of the service, and this is because people will tend to be attracted to the same product on a large scale and the liking of various people. On the contrary, it is tough to customize services due to the intangibility nature and also because most of the people have different preferences. This medium makes it a challenge since it is challenging to satisfy the needs of the every person. Therefore, customization of products and services are hard since people have different choices in life (Perreault, Cannon & McCarthy, 2013).
