The writing styles
1. The frequent errors identified on the work
The most common and frequent mistakes I identified were based on formatting according to the APA format for example on the issue of double spacing which was missing in work. It is a requirement in the APA style format that all documents should be written and then placed in double space after completion (Degelman & Harris, 2000). Moreover, I noticed that the pages were not numbered and also lacked the header and lacked the essential aspect of the APA 6th edition which requires that a running head should be present and the pages numbered up to the reference page. Additionally, the work was not paragraphed and contained some improper arrangement of paragraphs. According to the edition, the work should be performed in style paragraphed and well indented. Therefore, the rules according to the style designed should be followed and applied effectively.
2. What did you find easy about the review, and what did you find challenging? Why?
What I found easy on the work was the language that was used in the entire writing. The language was simple, and I managed to understand what was going on in the track about the review. No much grammar imposition would require much understanding. Moreover, there were no errors like anthropomorphism in the writing work, and this made it much easier to understand since such errors always deter the understanding of the paper. It is vivid that paper without much error will be very much competent to understand and get the knowledge intended (Clayton-Pedersen & O’Neill, 2005). The language used in the paper made the review interesting since in, most of the cases; the paper would contain ambiguous words that would make it boring due to the absence of simplicity. Moreover, the absence of anthropomorphism which is the most common mistakes in most papers made the entire review interesting because there was not much to be translated and also correcting them may also be a lot of work to the person writing.
3. What do you plan to do to improve your knowledge of APA further?
APA is one of the best writing styles that are being used in many academic writings. Though most of the people claim and say it’s the best due to its simple nature, it would also require some changes. Therefore, to further improve my knowledge on APA in really need to read more on the style and the formats to capture the extensive ideas on the style. Most probably, I need to get all the documents from the 1st edition to the 6th edition and find the difference and the improvements that have been made in the transition and the importance of the change. Moreover, I also need to compare it widely with the other writing styles like the MLA to get the relevant difference since the difference will allow for understanding the other style more and more.
Despite that, I also need to do a lot of work using the APA style to gain the experience and skills that are perhaps necessary for gathering the knowledge. These will also allow me to understand the entire formatting systems due to the more practicing that I would be performing. Further, I would also compare it with others apart from MLA to allow me to see some connections and contents that would allow for the understanding (Ation, 2012).
